Just wanted to let everyone know that Mabel got her head stuck in one of these this morning :( she was flying around the cage and got herself in a bit of a pickle! Thank goodness i was there and noticed straight away to help her out or i'm sure she would have got quite distressed! Poor Dottie was running around after her all worried 8...

I've removed it from the cage and wont be getting them anymore of these! It's a shame as they love to nibble them! They'll have to stick to their grass hut (which now has a huge hole in the side :)))

Oh noooooooooooo :{:...
Poor little Mabel lots of wheeeeky loves from the girlies xoxoxoxoxoxo
awwwww that's lovely that Dottie was worried about her mate Mabel x)

Aww thanks Glynis!

Mabel says "wheeek wheek" to the girls. I know, bless Dottie she had no idea what was going on or how to help! They were making noises I've never heard before too, at least now i'll be able to identify if either of them are distressed in future. The girls never sleep together or seem bothered about each other but I know now that they do really love each other x) They are both just quite independent piggies!

Aww poor Mabel, do you think it is worth emailing the shop that you brought it from to bring it to their attention.

I'm soooo glad you were home!
Yes now you know their individual distress sounds it's good........ if you know what i mean!

I suppose really that we have to be diligent on anything we give our piggies............ i had to take away a special hay basket that was given to my old boy and i passed it onto the girls, anyways the girls literally demolished it and it became a worry cause of the bits breaking off, i had to remove it :( i still have the remaining bits of it tho as a keep sake x)

Poor Mabel. I'm glad you were there to help her out. I got these wicker balls for my 3 gerbils. They were chewed to bits within a few hours. Needless to say I won't be getting them again :)) I couldn't afford them.

Ooh, I bought a large wicker ball for our first pair of piggies but only let them have it in their pen when I was in the room.
It's been in a box for ages now in storage as I was never very trusting of it.
Thank you for posting this warning.

Definitely thanks for posting about those. I was looking at those for an Easter treat, that won't happen now!

..

I have these! I got them on Thursday. They have them in the run when I'm out there with them.

I know, despite having signs on the toys saying that they are safe you never know once a piggie gets their paws on it! Aww, it's funny how some piggies literally destroy things within minutes! Glad you managed to save some of the bits for keep sake :) i have one of my dogs and cats first teeth up in the loft (when they fell out for the adult teeth) :red is that weird?!

I guess if the piggies aren't nibblers then it wont be a problem? But i'd defo keep an eye on them when they have them!

Aww, bless her! She must have been really scared :( Yeah i will do. Just need to remember now which one it was! It wasn't the one i posted earlier, couldn't remember then where i got it from but i remember now...it was this one:

http://www.animalmagicpetsupplies.c...ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3336/Products/SmallPet013

They currently have a good sale if anyone needs anything! I got 5 bags of meadow hay for around £10

when we got our first 2 girls Daisy & Willow I bought them one of these balls and they shredded it within days, It had a small blue plastic ball (with a bell in it) which I thought was a bit strange as that in itself could have caused some damage.

Thanks for posting this, was going to get a couple for my boys but I won't bother now. Glad you were home when it happened :)
