Hello everyone!
I am the proud parent of 2 guinea pigs. Today I found a strange thing on the stomach of one of my guinea pigs and I am really scared about it. Hopefully someone can calm my nerves and help tell me what it could be! I attached a picture! Please help!

Thanks so much!

I can’t tell exactly where that is on the pig, but I think that’s a nipple.

I agree with @HeatherRose , it looks like a nipple. If you check you should find another on the other side at roughly the same place. They are not necessarily the same colour though, so it might look different, and they can be difficult to find, especially in longer haired and darker piggies. Boys and girls both have them, and there was a thread a wee while back where some piggies had extra nipples too!

Hi and welcome!

What you have discovered is a nipple; you will find the other one on the other side of the belly. All guinea pigs have them and they look the same in both genders. Good that you are asking before trying to work it off as some others have done. ;)

Our sexing guide contains a picture of nipples; the skin pigmentation and markings determine the colour so your two nipples can look different: Sexing Guide

My Elsa has a pink one and a brown one, they are very prominent now since she is nursing!

Looks like a nipple if it down by the hind legs! Both genders have them. They can be different colors on either side.
