Who uses wash bags & do they still wash the fleece etc ok?!

I have bought one to try save the bits from the washing machine, esp now I have Billy who moults like a mother wotsit! I can't imagine it washes as well cos there's less movement?

I do! I wash the piggies' Vetbeds in one of those horsewear washbags using Halo Pet Bedding detergent and they always come out looking and smelling clean and fresh.

Pet bedding detergent?! I didn't kno you could get that!

Well I'll give it a try...! Thanks :)

It's great stuff! I get mine on Amazon. It's not the cheapest, but a bottle lasts a good couple of weeks. If you search 'Halo Pet Bedding' on Google then you should find it.

Bev (goggoguineas) recomended we get one. It is ace, not much movement as you say but it cleans the fleeces well and if Megan's fleeces can be cleaned while in it, anything will :))

Yep, here's the link:

I have a 5kg washing machine and I think i have the medium one. It contains the hair and stuff so I shake my fleece outside and hang it out for a bit but stops the hair and hay from being in your machine and clogging the filter.
Before I had one I would wash the fleece then put my empty machine on a rinse to get rid of the hair- obviously a big waste of electricity and water!

I didnt know there was such thing as pet bedding detergent!

I use two old pillowcases for my pigs' bedding. It works well.

I need one of these :) i wash the guinea pig bedding and the ferrets bedding in the washing machine daily and its always getting clogged up with hair and hay

I was looking at some washer bags and they are just so expensive! I think I'll be using the old pillowcase, seems the cheapest way! Thanks :)

the difference between using a cotton wash bag or a pillow case is that these are made of a special fabric that allows the dirty water to pass through but traps the hay and hair inside :)

I think I paid £11.99 for mine which is mega cheap compared to replacing the filter (at least £60) or the whole machine! ;)

I have a horsewear bag too, its miles better than a pillowcase as the zip contains all the bits and bobs, a pillowcase wouldn't stop hair and hay getting into your machine

True...

Ill have to look into getting a wash bag now!!
