Washable Bedding Advice

Hello I currently use chenile bath mats as I found that bits of hay was getting stuck in the hay pile in fleece liners and it was a nightmare but I'm finding that bath mats tend to fill up my machine drum quickly resulting in two loads per cage change. Could I use these as a main base liner and bath mats just in the pee areas under hides? Or would it be worth investing in liners again and putting bath mats on top also where the hay tray is so bits dont get lodged under the fleece pile?

Those are fine to use. I would get one pack and try them before spending a lot. What suits one person doesn't suit another. I love my fleece liners but if I didn't have so many I would try those. I gave up with the bath mats because they were too heavy for my machine and I could only wash two at once.

I use these as base liners and they work great - they are long lasting and wash on 60C if you need them done on a hot wash
I use vetbed/ zorb lined mats/ pee pads etc on top

I use lino with liners on top. The liners are fleece, zorb and fleece and are really absorbent. I also use noodle mats (shower mats from ebay) noodle side down to stop poos getting trapped in them.

My guinea pigs have a large wooden magazine rack as a hay rack with a litter tray made out of a 32 litre underbed storage box lined with wood shavings and timothy hay.

I did use fleece with zorb but found the bits of hay got embedded in the pile which got worse over time hence why I stopped using it

I use fleece which get brushed off on cleaning out day with a rubber brush. That gets off most of the bits of hay. Then I wash the fleeces and the washable waterproof liners which I have underneath the fleeces in 2 wash bags. This is the brush brush I use. I use the blade side for cleaning out the poops and hay that get underneath the liners.

These are the washable waterproof liners I use. They are expensive but I have only just replaced them after 8 years. I've cut them to fit my hutch too with no detrimental effect.

I use fleece with no pile. I also brush it off in the garden before putting in a horse wash bag to go into the washing machine. I got the bag from amazon.

Ive gone back to fleece liners and I will put a noodle bath mat by the hay area so no bits of small hay get caught in the pile. I use a wasb bag already and have bought a rubber brush
