I have 2 5x2 fleeces from Guineapigmarket that I use for bedding for my two male guinea pigs. I always swap them when I wash the fleece, so that I can immediately put new fleece in the cage and let the pigs back in the cage right away instead of having to wait until it goes through the laundry. I use All Free and Clear detergent and 1/4 cup of vinegar when washing the fleece, and often wash a tunnel and a couple hideys with it (I have a large top-loaded washer). Unfortunately, I made a huge mistake this morning. I needed to wash my clothes, so I threw them in the washer with a Tide pod and ran it. I thought I had already moved the fleece to the dryer but I hadn't, and it was still in the washer but I hadn't seen it because I just threw the clothes in without really looking. I use the All Free and Clear because as I understand it you can't use harsher detergents on guinea pig fleece as it is unsafe for them. The question I have is, can I run the fleece on a soak cycle or two before I switch back to that fleece and it will be fine, or did the Tide soak in deep and it is irreparably altered and I have to get a new one? I do have the money for one, and I do have two 4x2s I can lay on top of each other in its place, but It takes weeks to ship, probably more given that it's Christmas-time, so it would be ideal if I could use it a few more times or possible just keep it for the normal lifespan.
