Helloooo!

I always see a lot of people talking about these bags, but most seem to have bought from amazon? I've found this one, which i think is a fair price on vio vet

https://www.viovet.co.uk/Pet_Hair_Washing_Machine_Filter_Bags/c6710/?quick_find=150221

and wanted to know, a) if they are any good and b) whether they're worth buying or not, do you still shake your fleece outside before putting it in these bags? or do you just put it straight in these bags?

Many thanks :)

Does the fleece still clean just as well? Or does it end up with odd bits stuck to it from being in the bag?
It cleans well, not many loose bits of hay left on it. It comes up fresh, but unfortunately the pig hairs stay!

I struggle with all the pig hairs, but i've just found my trust rubber brush for removing them so hopping i can put that to use, god knows why i decided to choose black and white cow print cage liners, the tomato juice stains the white and the light pig hairs show up all over the black patches! I guess the bags stop you having to bend over to clean out the machine between though? Stops all the hairs getting on the door?

I haven't noticed the machine clogging up, or pig hairs on the door. But we find when we clean socks and other clothes, there's a lot of pig hairs on them.

That's where I got mine from :) be awear that when you go to the checkout it adds vat or something on it makes it about £16 ish still cheaper by a free pounds than amazon :)

I'm really pleased with mine, I shake and rub all the fleece etc before putting in the bag, top tip don't over fill and I pop my washing liquid (no softer) inside the bag once the wash is finished I put the empty washer on a rinse cycle just to rinse it through not because of hair as no escapes from these bags. I think there worth buying :)

Thank you for all your help! May be a good idea just for trying to keep the washing machine a bit cleaner :)

I just bought some stuff from Viovet and noticed this bag when I was browsing the site. It currently comes with a free drawstring bag (to keep it in I think) - for what that's worth.

Kell do you think it would be fairly easy to make your own laundry bag just like it? I couldn't quite tell whether it was just cotton fabric or something else?

I definitely think laundry bags are a must - it's the dirt that can otherwise escape into the bits of the machine you can't clean yourself that I'd be worried about.

Hi Hun, an old duvet cover with a thick hair band/bobble to tie it together works well I've read (after I brought my bag  .) the horse wash bags are made of a strong fabric, Ive seen someone on here that makes a smilier bag but unsure about what their made of.
Also I put my white piggy towels in this and expected green ish towels at the end of the wash ...nope still white...fab :) I don't think they remove the hair that well during the wash so getting as much off to start with is a must, but that said it defiantly holds any missed hair, hay and poop that you didn't remove before washing inside the bag which is why I wanted one. :)
Here's a pic of my jumbo wash bag (the A4 paper is to help give a rough size guide)
Kell :)

Wow that is a large bag! Is that the one that you got from Viovet or is it another one?

I have a wash bag and haven't had to take the filter out of the washer again.I just shake mine out before I put it in the washer.I empty the bag before putting it in the dryer and give it all another shake.I then hoover up any bits that have dropped.
