washing my guineas

i only wash mine once a year to freshen them up, unless they have mites or lice, then i bathe them, or depends if someone has been sleeping in their wee and they do need, so it depends really. I'm not sure how often others bath theirs.

If their coats start to feel greasy or they smell, or if you rub them and your hands feel greasy and dirty afterwards, only then would I wash them. I would wash them no more than every 6-8 weeks for a short haired pig. My short haired guinea pigs have never needed to be washed, except one when she was old and her friends died so she had nobody to groom her and she got dirty. I'd say most shorthaired pigs don't need to be bathed ever, unless they are especially dirty pigs. :) My long haired pig needs washing about once every 4-6 weeks, but I know people with long haired pigs that don't need washing much at all.

I bath my girls every 1-2 months but only if their hair feels dirty or they are smelly. They also get the odd bum wash with a flannel if they've been sitting in wee a lot. :)

I thought that as well. Belle is getting 'skirt' so that is going to get wet with her wee. She is only 10 weeks old at the mo, but I know her hair will get longer and be harder to keep clean and dry!

I wash mine once a month just because they love rolling about hahah so they get rather stinky xx

two of my boys are mainly white and the other is long haired so I usually do mine every 2 months, just make sure they are dry properly before they go back in the cage

Mine are usually every 2 months. Some of them monthly (the long-haired ones). :)
