Hello all. I give Harry and Lloyd fresh nuggets everyday and remove the old ones after they've been out around 24 hours. Not sure if that's the right thing to do, it's just my routine.

Anyhoo, the guys seem to prefer hay and veggies to the nuggets anyway, but I end up with a lot of wastage and wondered if it would do any harm to feed the waste to the bird.

Any ideas?

I take uneaten nuggets out each morning too! I have reduced the amount I give them until I find what they will finish up completely with none left. Mine prefer veggies too!
Not sure about feeding birds, sorry.

Are your boys over six months? If so they only need 10 or 20g pellets a day.

I don't have left overs! But I feed lots of our household left overs to our chickens!

Not sure about the birds, probably ok as it's not a huge amount!

I feed leftover nuggets to my cockroaches. Maybe your piggy doesnt like the current brand your using? They can be so fussy.

You have pet cockroaches? I'm interested in a weird sort of way. Can we see a picture?

Oh! Colour me intrigued. Are the cockroaches live feed for something else? We've got a crested gecko, as well as the guinea pigs. He's supposed to eat live stuff, but he runs away from anything moving we put in his tank (crickets, mealworms, etc.).

Video of them. They arent full grown there though.

Mr roach before he died.

My dad bought a pair of madagascan hissing cockroaches, they must have mated before the male died because we ended up with over 20 babies who are now grown up. They are about the size of my palm now, they are all grown up. They are pretty cool, they hiss loudly when something annoys/upsets them, but they hiss quietly to each other when they are talking, they sometimes hiss in reply if I talk to them.
We have crickets from pets at home to feed our xenopus frog and scorpion, I love the chirruping they do. Geckos are so cute, I caught one last time I was in Florida.

A little pet store in exeter. They really love tree/plant leaves.

I can but they dont really like it, they usually hiss. They are very strong too with scratchy legs, not exactly the nicest of things to hold. But they are cute in their own way.
If you would like, you can have some. They are easy to look after, they just need some heat (we keep the tank next to the radiator), some food + water, and some wood to climb. The tank is lined with wood chippings and soil, and we have pieces of bark for them to climb around on as you can see in the video. I get worried they will mate with each other and make more babies, we really should separate them but we don't have space for another tank.

I throw mine out for the neighbourhood rabbits... I'm not sure if they eat them or my dog and the squirrels do but they disappear and everyone's still running around lol
