My piggies have started to do something a bit odd. When there water bottle is empty they wriggle it loose from the cage so it drops on the floor! 98) I know they do it on purpose as they only do it when it's empty. I don't think it's just because it's lighter when it's empty as they've been able to get it off the cage before when it's been full.

It's just funny because you go to get the bottle off the floor and they stand there with this shocked look on their face like 'what have i done!' and they know full well what they've done. Guess they've just got us well trained!

my piggies were doing that every 10 minutes it was driving me mad! especially at night when I'm trying to sleep! they did it even though the bottle was full!

they were pulling off the bottle, and thenthe holder too, so i ended taping the holder to the cage bars (high up so they cant get to it) and the bottle is taped to the holder so they cant push it off!

Glad it's not only my pigs that do this. I've tried allsorts, have tied it to the cage etc but they still manage to pull it off, I'm scared they will dehydrate!

Out of curiosity, what bottles do you use? I use the Ferplast sippys and had huge problems with them doing this. Was chatting to Wendi at TC one day and she suggested I move the bottles up higher which has worked wonders - they haven't done it once since.

My guineas have flat bac water bottles (they've got a little duck in them that shows you the water level). Got those one because they're flat at the back and sit against the cage so thought they'd stay on better, guineas still found a way of getting them off though!

We just hang ours on the outside if the cage with the spout poking in through the bars - problem solved! ;D

Yeah mine have their bottles like that but they still chuck them on the floor!
