Water bottle

Hi all, hope your all ok,
I’ve had coffee & Toffee for around 5 weeks now and they still kinda hammering on the water bottle, I used to put a bowl of water in their enclosure but don’t think they were using it as ended up with hay and poop in it, how long does it take for them adjust?

Do you mean adjust to the bottle or a bowl?

My Dexter chews and pulls on the bottle when he is drinking - he’s done it all his life and after four years I don’t think he is ever going to change! Popcorn drinks nice and calmly!

Some will never want to use a bowl and even if they do, getting hay and poop in it is still normal - bowls of water need to be refreshed frequently during the day for that reason.

Bowls and bottle likes and dislikes are rather individual!
My piggies won’t use a bowl at all.
Two of my rabbits will use both a bowl and bottle
My other rabbit uses a bottle in winter but prefers a bowl in summer

I think they may have been brought up on bowls, I use a bowl and refresh regularly, I’ve two boars whom had bottles and now happily drink from bowls, it’s their preference I suppose, I know their getting water so that’s all that matters, thanks

Jack and Jake were nightmares with bottles, they'd rattle the bottle so hard they'd eventually break the spout off a plastic bottle. On the flip side, either Comet or Blitzen (most likely Comet, he was a bit of an idiot) managed to tip a water bottle over them both and neither were very happy about being wet.

Bann can magically drain a bottle in seconds without actually drinking it, Camowen's a noisy drinker but doesn't manage to get it everywhere at the same time. Neither of them are fussed on bowls. Me either after Comet's mishap, really. Glass bottles all the way now.

They’ve actually made it come off the plastic clip it sits in and it landed on the floor and by god all 9 piggies shot for cover lol
