Hey any recommendations for a water bottle that doesn't leek! the one from pets at home is gone in half a day!

All About Drinking And Bottles
There's some bottle info at the end of this thread.
I find the vaccum works best if bottles are filled rather than the gap left as recommended in the instructions. They also leak when there is a change of temperature - when the heating comes on or the sun going onto the bottle. I have a mixture of the cheap plastic bottles and the expensive glass ones and if they are filled right up to start with they are okay. I did find they are better if put inside the cage on the metal loop that comes with the glass ones as that puts them on a more upright angle.

This is the best picture I can find to help explain what I mean. These two monkeys are having floor time and are looking in at the neighbours, you can see the bottle sitting in the cradle inside the cage.

I use the pets at home glass ones , whilst i have had a few leakers, i just took back the whole bottle and swapped spouts over.

There are two other things that apparently cause them to leak and that is hard water scaling up causing the bearings not to sit properly. And some guinea pigs backwashing nuggets gunk up the tube, also affecting the bearing not seating properly.

Do you have pictures of these water bottles? I'm interested, and been looking at them for quite a while. It would be great to see a picture with it attached to your cage as i have read reviews with it being difficult to attach to cages.
I use the "You & Me" water bottles. As far as I know they don't leak :)

I used these. I don't like plastic water bottles - Jack and Jake both used to manage to destroy them in 5 minutes, or at least that's how it felt. They'd always pull the spout off the plastic screw cap and years later I still don't know how it's possible. I never had an issue really with the glass ones though.

The ferplast sippy Type bottle is one I recently purchased... life changing. One of my pigs has a liver problem and so drinks almost constantly, he was always tugging on the old bottle, making a racket and not get enough water to show for it and it leaked pretty much constantly. Since getting the ferplast one from pets at home, there’s been no leakage thus far, the pigs definitely prefer it and they can get a lot more water out which is really good for my ill pig who seems to enjoy drinking now rather than it be an effort for him

Here is a photo of Penny's bottle. It's really easy to attach to C&C cages

I have always used these and never had any leakages..

Leakages were never my issue with these but these are the ones Jack and Jake used to destroy, they'd pull the metal spout right off the plastic somehow

Wow! Piggys do really get up to mischief, maybe a glass one would be a better option for you then.

I only used glass ones with Comet and Blitzen and when I get pigs again it'll be the same. I honestly find the fewer necessary things they can destroy the better lol.

I have the plastic ones from Wilko and fill them right to the brim so there's no gap and I don't have leakage issues (neither do the bottles :)))! I tried a ferplast sippy but my lot are so daft they just couldn't figure out how to use it so I went back to the old bottles. I do have to regular clean the spout with a cotton bud though cos of the backwashers and they often come out greeny brown colour

I use a bowl. It requires more maintenance. Cleaning and changing.

But piggys like them. Probably more natural for them aswell
