Does anyone else use a water bowl at night instead of a bottle because of the noise it makes?

I used a water bowl once and I would never use one again unless it was an emergency!

They ended up using it as a toilet and that obviously is not hygienic:)>>>

How is your water bottle nosey?
I have found with mine the actual wire holders are too tight and make such a racket, I use cable ties now so much more quieter!xx>>>

how did you catch it with cable ties? well my babby piggie tugs it and it bangs against the cage and makes such a racket, its like she is trying to attack it :))

its just them drinking noisily. only 2 out of 8 can drink quietly. i think they play with it.

i used a water bowl, well 2 last night and this morning all that was in it was a couple of pieces of random guinea pig fur.

Following on from the noise, a recent study carried out on Rabbits raised the question is it better for small animals to have access to a bowl.

The Study showed that the rabbits who had access to a bowl were less likely to form stones or to get a Uti as it encouraged them to drink more. In the wild they would drink from the ground.

My Bette had a bowl and she loved it, I'm currently looking for heavyweight bowls for the rest of my pigs.

if you find a good bowl that doesnt get nocked over will * point out where * got it from please? :)

I was just doing a little piggy accessory shopping and noticed clip on bowls, not sure if they would be any good though. At least they wouldn't be knocked over or used as a toilet lol

Why didn't I think of that! I don't hear them drinking out of a water bottle now its a sound I'm far to used to:(|)
My rabbits all have water bowls and use them great:)

My piggies are free range in the conservatory and they have a heavy 8 x 12 inch oval dark greeny blue ceramic pot stand thingy placed on the floor. The water does get mucky and it does need keeping an eye on, but they have no problems using it at all.

Carmina has very thick fur and her chin soaks it up. I worried about this for a bit but there are no harmful side effects, she has been drinking from a bowl for six years now with no problems.

Columbine drinks a lot of water, the others drink less. It is easy to see how much they are drinking with a bowl.

I have it beside the pellet dish and they move from water to pellets to water to pellets and eat like that. This seems to do them very well indeed. (I don't feed much pellet food at all)

A dish of water does take up a lot more space than a bottle. I have lots of space, so it doesn't matter.

(Sorry I've gone on a bit!)
