20161031_154639.webp Question as anyone else got a guinea pig that beats her water dish up. And it is placed with a screw to keep it in place but she still beats it
Just wondering if anyone else has this trouble with water dishes. 20161031_155752.webp

I think most people use the bottles instead of dishes. Sorry I can't be of any better help

I use water bottles as all my piggies wee and poo in water dishes.you will need to clean water dish out regularly to prevent contaminationim sorry a cannot advise anymore than this !good luck.x

i have a small china/stoneware water dish- i usually clean it out a couple of times a day as they're so bloomin untidy, but Grace wont drink from a bottle... well she doesn't drink... never seen her drink from either XD

they put their paws on it & lean on it, but don't beat it up! would a heavy bowl stop her from attacking it?
how about one of those non - tip bowls, is it called a "stay bowl" or something, a girl designed it with her father to stop guineas tipping it over & wasting the food.

its got a wide lip that is at the bottom, the guinea stands on it to eat/drink so cant tip it up as their body weight is on the lip prenting it.

is she the same with a bottle?

Can't have a water bottle because they don't get much water out , so it has to be a water dish.
Water bottles don't give enough water out.

Water bottles work just fine here, sure they tend to drink a little long sometimes in order to get as much as they desired but no more bowl tipping and easier to keep clean.

I had both water bowl and a bottle in my girls house.
Maybe give her a smaller ceramic bowl? Perhaps she doesn't like where the bowl is. Some piggies love to move (aka redecorate) everything around
I found that the bowl had to be cleaned out twice daily tho

I used large mason and cash ceramic bowls for my last guinea pigs. They did put their paws on the edge and bite the bowl but no tipping.

Your right theses ceramic bowl are better !, this is the picture of it .it's like a cup and saucer

Have you tried sippy bottles? Sippy Bottle | Pets At Home

Generally, water dishes get overthrown, soiled and used as toilets.

Please be aware that by far not all guinea pigs drink much or even drink at all. Drinking is something that they normally learn from their elders. If they are separated and sold before they can do this, it is much harder for them to figure out how to drink.

If really prefer a dish, then go for a rabbit size ceramic dish or a wide-footed plastic one that cannot be upturned. You will have to clean and refill it twice daily.
