Hi All

Quick question about water and our little Oreo. We have now put Oreo and Red back in the outside hutch during daytimes and the water bottle sits fairly high although not out of reach of Oreo. I haven't seen Oreo take a drink of it yet. It could be that he just hasn't or has drunk when I'm not looking. Should I be worried yet or will he get most of his water from food as he's so little?

On the plus side he is definately peeing when sitting on laps, etc.

Thanks

Stu

I wouldn't be too worried, if the piggies in a new environment then they can often take a little while to adjust and get used to things, if you're worried you can feed more watery veg such as cucumber and i used to wash the veg and then wash it again and not dry it very well so it still had some water on it when my baby boys first came home.
Or if after a week or so still no drinking i'd say try hanging the water bottle either lower or from inside the cage, one of my pigs my loan pampered prince boar will only drink if his bottle is attached to the inside because he's a lazy bum rolleyes

hope that helps (:

Thanks Twiams. To be honest when I think about when we brought Morgan and Red home the same thing happened. I will just watch out as I know the bottle is low enough for him to get, and he is going to grow.

I'm a bit paranoid at the moment after Morgan was so ill last week and we said goodbye to him.
