My 11 week old piggies don't appear to be drinking much at all, we have 2 bottles on the cage and have also tried a bowl without much success. Some water has gone from the bottle but not much (and it may have just leaked!). How much should they be drinking? Thank you.
 
All piggies are different. My boys barely drink any water as they get plenty of water from their fresh veg which they get twice a day - just to reassure myself I soak the veg in water to make sure they're getting as much as they can and always have the water bottle just in case they want it.
 
I have 6 and they don't drink much.They will be getting moisture from their veggies.You can always not dry them when you wash them so they will get more
 
Ok, thanks, so I shouldn't worry too much then. Soaking the veg sounds like a good idea too. They LOVE their cucumber which made me think they were maybe dehydrated.
 
It's hard to know when you're completely new to guinea pigs! I think I expected the water bottle to be drained every day!

I know, I thought that when we first had piggies.. But our first two didn't drink much, we always soak our veggies though. Our current gang are always at the bottle but they are in the warmest room of the house with us.
 
No need to worry!
Out of my five - Rambo and Maple are the big drinkers closely followed by the others. Pecan, Patch and Lucky rarely drinks from the bottle but they probably drink a lot more when I'm not around.

They do love their cucumber though :D
 
Our girls drink a small amount, but I think they prefer to play with the water bottle than actually drink the water. Edward doesn't drink very much at all, but both girls and boy have veg which is soaked so they get most of their water from there. Don't worry about it, they will be getting their water from their veg most likely.

Whiskers drinks a full bottle in about a day and a half. I'm constantly cleaning his cage!
 
All pigs are different and some spill a lit. My triogo through a ton but that is due to.lacey never llearning the bottle in sensible manor shes 2 now so given up hope of her learning lol
