I joined the forum a few back when we homed 3 pig sisters. We love having them. They get unlimited hay, pellets are filled morning and night and fresh veg:red/green pepper, cucumber.green cabbage the odd grape or apple and others veg we may have around. However,I have never seen them drink.and believe me I've watched them for ages! They are thriving, have grass time whist we're enjoying this warm weather yet still haven't drank from their water bottle.Should I put a bowl in the hutch to encourage them? Thanks for any advise and ideas offered.

I have two lots of two boars. Two adults do not seem to drink at all, the young ones drink quite a lot. I do tend to feed the you more dried pellets, the adult get minimal pellets. That is the only thing I can think of....

Guinea pigs get most of their fluids from their daily veggies and Salad so don't drink an excessive amount from their drinkers. I suggest if this is normal for them since you had them then I wouldn't worry, only if it's a sudden change in behaviour. My girls don't drink a lot at all.

We've got 8 piggies in 3 groups. Only one group drinks from the water bottles ever! So I'd say nothing to worry about but don't be tempted to do away with them. Annoying though it is , I'd keep refreshing the water each day.

temperature can determine how much they want to drink. all during winter (southern hemisphere) they didn't drink like at all. then now its starting to get warm drinking a lot. so i wouldn't worry too much
