I never see my pigs drink, I'm sure they must be OK as the seem to be doing plenty of wees and I do serve their daily veg wet. I've provided a bowl of water as well as a bottle both of which are fresh each day. Maybe they are drinking during the day or night when I'm not there. Who knows? The bottle never seems to go down though.
Is this abnormal? Surely if they were thirsty they'd drink from their bowl?

Some piggies just don't drink very much. I worried about mine for the same reason when I first got them, and they still drink very little. They'll get enough from their veggies to prevent them getting dehydrated. I was given some advice a the time, like rubbing the drinking spout with cucumber, but it made little difference. Nothing to worry about unless they seem unwell in any way.

I have a piggie that hardly ever drinks water but she will only drink water when she needs to, she gets most of her fluids from her veggies. I give them some extra cucumber on hot days so they don't get dehydrated.

My boys never drink at all. I asked the vet when she was seeing them, and she said not to worry as they are well hydrated, and obviously getting enough moisture from their veg. (Must admit, I'd still prefer to see them drinking)

Thanks for the replies, glad it's not just mine then. I think I recall my guineas that I had years ago hardly ever drank and they lived to a ripe old age, so I'm sure they will drink when necessary.

You will probably hear them drink first. I always put a new piggys face to the water bottle, so it knows it's there.
