How much would be too much water for guinea pigs to be drinking? The boys have one bottle - I used to put in two but they both didn’t drink from the other one - and seem to finish it in one day. I put in 350ml this morning around 10. It’s now down to about 50ml. Does 250-300ml seem like a lot between two piggies?

This has been going on a while but there have been no other ‘symptoms’.

Are you sure the bottle isn't leaking? Or they are just playing with the spout and making it leak? Most piggies drink around 30 to 60mls a day in my experience , drinking to excess suggests a health problem and warrants a vet visit.

When my boar was young he seemed to drink a whole bottle to himself, i think he might have been learning how to use it properly( different size spout to his one before i had him)

My Prince can finish a whole bottle (250ml) in 24hrs. I don't think anything is wrong with him though or else Simon has already told us (he sees Simon every 5 weeks for dental). Prince likes eating pellets and drink water alternately. Like a few pellets then have a drink, then a few pellets again then drink again. I have 3 bottles in their cage, one 150ml at the floor c&c, another 150ml at floor 1 of the hutch and the 250ml of the floor 2 of the hutch. Only the 250ml is being drank though..

It does leak a little, but I don’t think it’s that significant an amount. I’ll check underneath it and see.
