I'm having a dilema, my piggies knwo where water bottel is btu wont use it, i tryed a bowl, but onw pees in it or poos in it so ... i dont know what to be doing as I'm out during the day for uni so cnat chang e bowl all the time. nees to be a bottle. how do i get them to drink from it( bearign in mind they still rnt tooo keen for me to pick them up).

my young piggies won't drink from the bottle either. I have been giving them pieces of cucumber. I've been told that they will drink when they are thirsty and might be getting enough from veg. I'm still concerned though. Sorry this does not really help you!

This might help or not. I have known pigs that don't drink at all, as long as they get watery vet everyday they won't need it. I've got 2 pigs that drink almost constantly and 1 pig that doesn't really bother, if I let it, the bottle could be full for weeks

Same here. One of our piggies won't drink hardly at all. As far as I know, she doesn't use her bottle. When I wash her greens and veg, I don't shake the water off very much, just to make sure she gets some extra. She is 3, so it can't be doing her any harm!

One of our pigs is 'a drinker' and is always at the water bottle. The other piggle not so.

We always make sure some of the veg given at Breakfast and Tea is 'wet' like Cucumber or Watermelon so she gets fluid intake that way. As Sappho has said make sure veg's have water still on them from washing - this will again provide the water she needs.

Keep the bottle up also, you never know they may start using it sneekily in the day when your out...

Keep the bottle up and change daily. Once your piggies are not so shy, you can demonstrate with your finger what sound the bottle should make.

My pigs are nearly 6 months old, and the water bottle has rarely been used. I always change the water, but it is never or rarely touched. The only way I know they are getting enough fluid is because their inco pads are soaking!
