How much water do piggies usually drink a day?
I'm sure the water bottle is working OK but the water level hardly seems to be going down even though they seem to be peeing for Britain.

It really depends on the piggy. Some piggies get through a whole bottle a day. My piggies get through half a bottle of probiotic mix per day, but normal water would take them forever to get through a bottle if i didnt replace it, yet they still seem to pee!

Often, guinea pigs can get all the water they need from their fresh food. :)

Try not to worry, if they are weeing and pooing and eating and look bouncy, this is not unusual. :)

I always do a test when i change the water bottle. If you just press the end (should be a small ball) where they drink from and watch to see if any bubbles go up the bottle. If there are then the water is coming out.
Chip has days when she drinks but then she doesn't. I think if they are having lots of veggies which a very watery like cucumber they don't drink as much.
Hope this helps :)

Thanks. Yes, there are bubbles rising when you press the little valve and they had a bottle in their previous home so know how to use them.
I give fresh veg/salad/fruit twice a day but not too much of the watery stuff like grapes or cucumber together as I don't really know what they are used to and don't want to give them the squits.

Some pigs drink lots some don't. Our younger two get through about a quarter of the bottle a day but our old girlie hardly ever drinks.

I just give her veg thats rinsed under water so has water clinging to it. There is always plenty of wee in the cage so she is clearly getting enough moisture.

Don't worry as long as there is wee there is water going in!
