I've noticed how my guinea pig's right eye is extremely watery lately, and I've also noticed how that particular eye is not as open as the other one. Does anyone here know what might be wrong with her eye?
Your piggy has most certainly something stuck in its eye, like a bit of hay. If you can't get it out or if the eye gets cloudy you better take it to the vets, as it can ulcerate. If it isn't Ok again by tomorrow evening, I'd book it in at the vets.
Thankfully, eye infections tend to look bad, but clear quickly!
"Hayfever" can also lead to slightly watery and 'sunken' (or partially closed) eyes, much the same as with humans. A blocked tear duct can also lead to such symptoms if the fluid isn't draining away.
Always important to rule out the worst case (in this case, infection or foreign body in the eye) first though!
