Hi there
My Bella has always had on / off issues with having very watery eyes. The vet usually gives me drops and it clears up. 6 months later it’s back!
Any ideas what could be causing it?
She’s eating / pooping fine and is totally fine in herself. Possibly any idea where I can get drops without having to spend £45 at the vets just to get them lol (just got my bill through for my late girl Luna 😱)
Thank you

I did think that but she’s eating veg and hay all fine. I thought she was dribbling a bit the other day but I think it was the wet lettuce but can’t be sure! She hasn’t done it since though. Might be worth getting it checked just in case.

Is it milky discharge, or clear tears that crust up around the eyes? Leela just seems to have sensitive eyes/allergies- she was treated for a bacterial eye infection as a baby because she had crusts around the eye and her eye noticeably improved with treatment and no longer crusts, but I suspect she has allergies or sensitive eyes because she is still prone to watering when she goes outside in the summer most noticeably. She also sneezes more than our other pigs. The vet has checked her and her eyes are not red or irritated... he suspects she is just sensitive to allergies. Trying to minimize dust/environmental allergens might help- make sure to get a non-dusty bedding and hay with as little dust as you can and see if that makes a difference.

Sometimes it looks milky yes, sometimes clear. I'm wondering if its the hay then, i recently got them timothy hay but thats not dusty at all, but the normal hay is as she sneezes a bit when i put it down.
I'm thinking would it be a good idea just to give them timothy hay for a week and see if it clears up?
I wouldnt say its crusty around her actual eye, but looks like it falls down her face like shes been crying lol.

I would try switching to the less dusty hay and seeing if you notice a difference. It certainly can't hurt!
