Hi I'm new to the forum I'm just wondering if guinea pigs know were the water bottle is as I've not seen them drink water yet we have had them 3 days today there 12 weeks old there eating ok. thank you wayne

it may take them a while to figure out how to use the water bottle if they haven’t used it before. maybe try putting a little cucumber juice or something on the nozzle to tempt them. my piggies don’t really use their water bottle a lot, they get most of their water through their veggies.
welcome to the forum and good luck!

Hi
Some piggies don't drink much if they eat lots of veggies daily. They will definately know where it is, they would have explored the cage most probably when you are sleeping, right now they are scared everything is new, they will eat very little and drink very little in the day for the first 1 to 3 weeks and then fill up at night or when they think no predators i.e humans are around.
Daily handling really helps them to see humans as friends and before you know it they will be out all day long.

If you are still worried place a bowl of water in the cage but change it if it gets soiled. Check to see if the water level goes down and the food is being eaten and there are plenty of liquid output 😁

Some piggies don’t drink much water and just take their liquid content from their veggies. New piggies can be very shy. They may only venture out when there’s no one around.
I’d be tempted to let them settle and hide in their little hidey until they are ready to some out. I’d put hay, veggies and pellets all nearby so that they can grab and eat without having to come out fully. They are very young and will be scared for some time to come. Please read the settling in guides Settling In And Making Friends With Guinea Pigs - A Guide

Thank you all for your help they are so cute and funny when they stay still and pretend there dead when we walk past the cage. Shall we wait a while before trying to pick them up thanks wayne

You can try holding the bottle in hand and put it near their face. Helps if you press the tip in a bunch of times so they can smell the water on it or it's dripping. After my gp gave birth and was done with cleaning, she was staying in her cubby a long time with babies, and I tried this with her bottle knowing she had to be thirsty and she drank like crazy while I held it at the cubby entrance.

Give them some lettuce, cucumbers, etc., that has a higher water content, so they'll at least have some water until they figure it out.

FWIW, I have 2 day old pups and I've seen one of them already try to drink from it (while hanging). Hay platter (upside down Frisbee) and food, along with a tunnel pipe is all right in the vicinity, so they are running by it constantly. If it was in the opposite end of the cage, they might be less likely to run by it.

Thank you little piglets we have a wooden bridge edible one i put under water bottle so it's close to the nozzle sow when they go over bridge its close to them. Now I've seen hoppy drink from it now but not seen bunny yes we give them carrots cucumber we give them red pepper few days a go and cabbage leaves I've been keeping track of what food to give them and some things in moderation and things not to give them. Also we have a massive cage I always keep it stocked with hay. Since I've started this forum it's helped so much thanks to everyone's advice thank you all

Pleased you have seen it in use, the other will see Hoppy drink from it also.
