one thing that has always made me wonder, for those who have girls and boys but keep them separate, when you wash and clean out the cages/pens/hutches, do you have separate bedding for the boys? And if you was the bedding and cozies, do you wash them all at the same time or do you do the boy stuff first, then the stuff girls have been on.

Or is it just keeping the girls away from bonded boys is enough to prevent fall outs?

Just wondering how far you have to keep things separate, since putting silver in the girls pen he has been sniffing even the fresh bedding, it might still have some smells of flash on - although its been washed a few times since, their stuff still smells a bit piggie after being washed.

Interesting thought, no idea since i've just got mt first boar and he's in hs own at the let but is something that I'll be interested to know.

I didn't use separate bedding as mine weren't bedded on fleece but I washed bowls, bottles & hideys separately. All items from individual cages were washed together but not with anything from another cage & I always used to put my pair of boys in the run first because if the girls went in first their smell would drive the boys mad yet there were no problems having girls living above the boys.
