Please give them time to settle - more often than not, the dominance sort out will take about 2 weeks until everything has been settled to everypig's satisfaction.

As you haven't had any outright fights within the first half hour, acceptance has happened and your girls have actually bonded - even though it doesn't look like it! What they are doing now, is sorting out who is the top girl.

Rumbling, chinning (going chin to chin), humping, nipping and head butting, chucking a piggy out of a hidey or off a food bowl are all very normal dominance behaviours and nothing you need to worry about.

Here is more about sow behaviour (let your mum read it, too):

Yes it is horrible to watch, mine did it too, even now one may get chased off now & then. However they do tolerate each other, they never snuggle up & sleep together though :) so maybe don't expect that from them, but they will like having each other's company, eventually once they settle, honest! :))

Fingers crossed that the squabbling might have calmed down a little.

We went and had a look and Lottie was in her sleeping sack with Bonnie in there too-she was lying in front of her-there were no squabbling noises either!

They look so adorable together so I REALLY hope they will be friends.

It looks like it is going quite well, actually! Hopefully, they will be past the very worst although you may see a repeat of it from time to time, especially in the coming days and whenever one of the girls is coming into a strong season and having the grumpies - sows can be so like humans in that respect!

Not all piggies are "cuddle uppers", but many will spend at least part of the night staying close to each other; that yours are doing it is a sign that they are going to be good friends.

Sounds like you're over the worst. They really will appreciate each others company even though it might not look like it at times. Mine still squabble now and again but I know they love each other really :))

They panic when they're apart and always sleep next to each other but put food into the equation and its every pig for themselves :)

Lol that's what mine are like! I was a bit scared the other day, Mummy pig was obviously in season, & was humping her baby rolleyes poor Daisy is so small, but she didn't squeal, just lay there under chubster Petal with just her head showing :{ I must admit I did scare Petal off as it looked very uncomfortable for the poor baby! However all was back to normal the following day rolleyes

Things are definately getting better.:)

When I came downstairs today I saw Bonnie eating and when Lottie came out of her sack Bonnie popcorned! She really looked happy.

Theres a bit of noise today as hubby is fitting skirting boards in the lounge,I checked on them and they are sharing one of the sleeping sacks-ahhhh.x)

oh that is good news! they are funny little animals with big personalities! glad they have sorted themselves out x

have had mine since march this year and still to this day the baby of the group (she was 3 weeks when I had her and came with mum) they all still pick on poor fudge, but despite it looking really sad and mean, she just is the bottom pig and its never anything other than dominance between them all.

And none of mine snuggle up, which is why they have a snuggely bed each :))
