To my previous post.

After taking milly to the vets in Enfield Milly still seemed to be ill. We decided to take her to a Guinea pig and rabbit specialist in Broxbourne And she a good look at her (Nails, skin , furr, teeth, ears, bum and eyes) The vet was orginaly worried about her teeth growing up and causeing pain behind the eye. After an xray i was told the little milly has infacked got an tumour behind her eye hich is pressing on her nazal airways which is making it difficult for her to breath. She has been given so medication to help her breath so the she can be put to sleep and have an operation to remove her eye and clear out the tumour. If this operation does not go ahead then the tumour will eventually spread to the brain and well i hate to say....

If anyone has had this happen before please let me no the outcome

BTW i recommend the vets she spent 2 hours and 30 minutes with milly and including the xray it came to £60 and i am told that the op will cost around £50 which i think is nothing compared to what ohers will charge.

thanks

I'm so so sorry to hear this news. You must go ahead with the operation. My Scarby had a massive operation 2 years ago. He had a 200g tumour removed from his liver along with a lobe of liver. He came home the same day and recovered amazingly well. So guineas can survive this kind of surgery.

Please ask your vet if he'll use Isoflurane for the anaesthetic as this is very good for guineas - and is used on humans too. The cost, as you say, very good.

I'm wishing you so much luck for this. Another very brave piggie.

I'm so glad you've now found out what's wrong with Milly it's horrible seeing them ill and not knowing what's wrong :'(
I'd go ahead with the surgery also, it sounds like this vet really knows what they're doing O0
Good luck with Milly please keep us posted on her progress O0 :smitten:
Healing wheeks and good op vibes for Milly from us both :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
