I took George back for his check up with our vet Jenny today after a huge abcess came up over the weekend and he had to have a little GA to drain it out on tuesday.
He's doing really well, she was amazed how quickly it's shrunk, the honey is doing the trick!

We'll we've both agreed that the time has come for George and Gerry to go their seperate ways and become neighbours as Gerry demonstrated his dislike for George in the car on the way there (again) and thinks nothing of giving George a good nip when he annoys him.

Well these terrible twins have such an odd relationship, one minute they'll get all cross with each other, George will get a nip and then 5 minutes later they've made up and are snuggled up together.
I really don't want to seperate them but this is the second abcess in 3 months (since we've had them) and we can't go on like this. Neither of them are as happy as they could be and Jenny has now officially perscribed the need for the snip and two girlfriends each! (naughty vet colluding with rescues :)) one each will be fine (for now) thank you)
So George is going back for a check up in two weeks time (or earlier if the abcess gets bigger) and once he's had the all clear they'll be in for the chop!

In the mean time there's going to be some major remodelling!
We're going to have to put a second floor in as there is literally no more floor space left in our house. (please keep your fingers crossed for a lottery win tomorrow for us! :)) )

Now I've just got to tell the OH. Jenny and I agreed we have to go down the route of persuading him he's the best DIYer in the world and he should buy a new power tool so this would be the perfect excuse to try it out. ;)

Wish me luck!

So our family of 5 boys is set to expand rather quickly in the new year!

What a treatment in store... I hope that your hubby can be brought round!

Casey and Valentino are jealous at the idea of being prescribed ladies :))
"Whee can hear and smell ladies in the room but whee can not see them! Whee are very jealous" :)) Poor Case and Vally don't seem to know that their cage is on top of Poppy and Phoebe's hutch

I am sure he would be upset if he was denied a girlfriend lol!

I'm sure hubby will come round to the idea.
Bribery works well rolleyes xx

I think I just caught him at a bad time. He'd just woken up (he works nights) and was getting ready to come and work for me before he goes to his regular job so it was like my equivalent to getting up at 3am to go to work!
We've already agreed we'd never get rid of any of our pigs, a forever home is a forever home how ever naughty they are! So I don't need to worry about that. I just need to prove to him we can make the space work, and if we can make the space work there's no problem with getting more pigs.
I'm off to look at C&C designs, i think it's the way forward!

Well I'm still working on the OH.
He's agreed to go with my design for a C&C cage. Thanks to everyone for putting their pictures on here, it made it a lot easier to show him what I meant.
So I'm off to B&Q tomorrow to pick up three packs of grids. Thankfully I'm off to see the mother in law in Bath tomorrow so can pop into the Longwell Green, Bristol store as no B&Qs have them in my area other than Oxford which only have 2 packs! The things I do for my boys.

Well I've told a little white lie and said the minimum space for a single pig is 5 by 2, knowing full well I can get three in there! ;)
So I'll get the new houses built and then work on the girlfriends but when he can see how lonely the boys are I'm sure I can pursuade him. (they'll be able to see each other still and we've got to wait for George's abcess to clear up fully before taking them in for the snip.)

I understand why he has reservations about getting more pigs. The vet bills are a major worry but the only one really. Two more pigs won't cost that much more to feed, I'm going to have to do extra cleaning out anyway as George and Gerry have got to be split up, his argument about what we're going to do if we went on holiday doesn't work either because 5 pigs or 7 we still have to find someone to look after them and his mum is more than happy to.
But finally and the most important, the boys will be much happier.

I think I win! :))
