So two of my four piggies are still very nervous and scared around humans. Both likely for good reasons as Willow is around 5 years old and was clearly neglected (underweight with massively overgrown nails) and Lily had only ever been handled to medicate her.

Over the past couple of weeks Lily has progressed to sitting by the veg bowl to eat instead of grabbing a piece and running off. This is on the proviso that her bum is positioned exactly so that she can promptly back up should the human breath a little too loudly :))

Willow on the other hand is venturing into new (Daisy style) territory and coming right up to me. Today she came over and, despite refusing to do it a second time, she ate a pellet out of my hand! I don't know what it is about these older ladies but I always feel its so much more rewarding when they show any trust in you

Poor piggies! How can anyone neglect such gorgeous animals? Pleased they have found their forever home with you x

Awwww, when you gain little bits of their trust it is amazing. Reward for all the hard work you are putting in, it is amazing after all they have been through that they are slowly coming round. Really great news!

Awww that’s awesome that they are making so much progress. It’s a very rewarding feeling isn’t it. Poor Willow being so neglected, thank god she came to live with you who will love her and treat her with kindness.

Brilliant! It's the little things that really scream progress to me. I'm glad she's learning to trust you!

I had the same with my late Bea when she came to me she was two years old and everytime a human held her for lap time she would wee over them within a matter of seconds. When we progressed to her not doing that to me and starting to enjoy the time we bonded so much better

I love it when they slowly come around. Podrick was such a scared pig when he first arrived and slowly he's come to trust me.

I feel like I bond better with pigs like that, than pigs like Jon Snow who's a brave outgoing guy from day 1.
