Yesterday afternoon we lost our little baby biscuit. We are currently on holiday and she and her sister we with a friend of ours.

My friend woke up on friday morning to find Biscuits back legs were paralyzed she was taken to the vet who said it could have been some kind of infection as she had quite a runny nose. She was prescribed pain killers and antibiotics. By Sunday her condition got a lot worse and she couldnt move at all and was leaning to one side we suspect it was a stroke and at 6pm Sunday afternoon she died.

Needless to say we are devastated.

We found out that it could have been a calcium or vitamin C deficency. We know that we feed them both more than enough veg and pellets with added vit c and calcium to make up their needs but we read that stress can effect them and stop them from absorbing their nutrients even though they are eating what they need. we tried to get hold of the supplements we needed but it was a Sunday and in the UK everything is closes early on a Sunday and my friend couldnt get there on time.

We feel so bad that we were away when she died and we felt so helpless being so far away from her. she died in my friends arms so at least she wasnt alone. I know my friend has done an excellent job at looking after them and we dont hold her responsible in any way.

I need some advice on what to do next. I will create another thread and link this one in. I didnt want to make it too long. Thanks for reading and thanks for any advice you have.

I'm so sorry. I think with the speed it happened it was more likely to be a stroke especially as she was leaning to one side. My Ellie lost the use of her back legs a couple of years ago which we thought was a vitamin deficiency but no amount of supplements helped her so we suspect something else was going on and we were advised to PTS.
