we miss you Saltsie

A few days ago one of my friend's guinea pigs passed away quite unexpectedly (we were expecting the other one to pass not Salt) a forever cute (chubby)guinea, bossy attitude and always looking after her sister. we miss you forever in our hearts

there were just the 2 of them and I on behalf of her am posting, just wondering what would be best for the remaining guinea pig? she is roughly 5/6 years old and has a few noncontagious health issues I have 4 girls roughly 3 years in age and could look after Pepper would this be best or should she stay single?

I’m sorry to hear this.

The best thing is for her to have piggy companionship, so if your friend is willing to let you have her then that is a good idea.
You should try to bond her with your girls (making sure any bonding is done on neutral territory) but whether it works depends on where she tries to go in the hierarchy between your current girls. Eg if she is dominant then the dominant sow in your group is not likely to accept her so the bonding might fail. Also, older sows can sometimes prefer their own company anyway and reject any new friends.
If she doesn’t bond work your girls then it is best that she still stays with you but lives in a separate cage alongside your girls to allow companionship and interaction between the bars but without having to share territory.
