My little girl had a weapy eye last night and still has it today, its just the one other is fine shes a little bit quiet in herself but is eating/drinking ect all normal, advice? :/
One of my boys once scratched the surface of his eye on his hay and the eye became weepy very quickly . He was given an anti biotic eye cream from the vet and it cleared up quickly . Hope that helps ... I'd definitely take her to the vets to get wee check up .
Piggies do excrete a milky fluid in their eyes which is used to lubricate in the grooming process. Usually this process is quite quick, so the fact she has had it for nearly a day would mean I would take her to the vets.
There are a number of reasons for weepy eyes, some which are not too serious and others which need urgent attention. It may be that she has an irritation in the eye from something like hay, or may have caught it grooming herself - as you said the other eye was fine.
thank you! she had a big bit of hay lodges ontop of her eye i managed to get out and took her to the vets the next day, he said there is no perminant damage and the eye is already healing itself pretty well so he put some cream in scared me as it went blue but looks so much better today, so relieved! x
