So unfortunately due to the weather and not having enough space or the heart to leave just one outside, I’ve had to do the bonding experience a week early. (I checked them health wise all beforehand especially Bear and he looks very healthy) I don’t want them to become sick or the hutch be ruined and scare the hell out of them, so it’s a just in case measure.

As far as the bonding is going, Bear has come to realise very quickly that Atlas is the dominant one and after being quick to try and mount the two older males. 😂 there is large piles of hay and there’s only been a bit of rumble strutting, Monty seems to want to be the dominant over Bear but only when Atlas isn’t in sight. But all seems to be going well, I think Atlas has a soft touch for the baby. 🤔 I’m aware of the risks I’m taking and I honestly expected it to go wrong by now but they’ve been in the play pen for hours now and they seem to have settled well. They’re only teeth chattering at the sound of wind outside.

I made sure to get a younger and submissive boar, albeit he is quite cheeky. ☺️

I have read the bonding threads and looked into it for weeks before I even got Bear. But Atlas and Monty are still well and they’ve welcomed Bear very well so far. I think Atlas is becoming the “dad.” 😂

Bear is currently popcorning the heck out in the playpen. And? Atlas actually lay down comfortably.

Update: Bear likes following Atlas around 😂

Glad that everything is going well for you!

Please make sure that you do not have any hideys or corners with just one exit during the dominance phase (first two weeks).

Thank you! I shall remove that one.
