hi I cleaned the indoor hutch out today and my dad says it still smells I don't hom I can do anythink else its since poppy had the urine infection any ideas
 
Is it wood or plastic?
 
plastic I washed it out with jayey fluid watered it down
 
Jeyes fluid has a really strong smell - I wouldn't use it to clean out guinea pigs. Some forum members use white vinegar diluted . Personally, I would use a cleaning solution that is approved for small animals.

Do you normally buy your stuff online or from shops?

never tried vinegar a friend told me to soak for 2 hours can't to that no where to put piggys i only go a carrier case for them i just use shop and water to wash it out or keep clean baby wipes
 
I put puppy pads and newspaper in the bath. I put a small amount of hay and a hidey. This way the guinea pigs can use that whilst their runs/cages are cleaned and disinfected.
It does harm the bath (or guinea pigs). I hoover the hay out after removing puppy pads and newspaper. No one would know the guinea pigs had been in there!
 
I use the Beaphar cage clean spray, it's blue in colour. It kills fungal spores. It's quite pricey but it's really good at getting rid of the ammonia smell in urine and is piggy safe.
 
lm with PiggyOwner, Jeyes fluid has a smell like creasolte and is very good for getting shut of smells as well as sanatizing

it is extesivly used in dog kennals , though l do not know if it is safe for use in pig cages, ? l dont see why not if you rinse it well !
 
I use a small animal cleaner from PAH to clean out the litter trays because they can pong a bit and it gets them smelling fresh. The urea tends to be the smelly remnants so if you have any of the hard crust left that might be what your dad can smell? My dad could smell it when my parent looked after my piggies for a couple of weeks even though me and mum couldn't.

How often do you clean them out?
 
sorry don't have bath only shower i have a dog aswell might be poppy as her fur still very yellow
 
washed her in baby shampoo don't know if i cause anythink stronger
