Not sure if these are correct or not but I stood them on my digital scales and on a few occasions, they came up different but I will post them and you can tell me if this is ok. :)

They are 2 months old today!

Don't understand this cos Hoggle appears to be heavier when he is smaller.

Hoggle - 450g
Ludo - 368g

The first readings were:

Hoggle - 344g
Ludo - 260g

If either are ok I am happy but I don't get why it was different! :{

I bet that's okay. They are both gaining and that's whats important.

I need some digital scales as mine are rubbish.

Not sure if it is my scales or the fact they are skittish little creatures as I was getting all sorts of readings but I managed to get them still for about 5 seconds for the scales to settle and here is what I got...

Hoggle - 372g
Ludo - 450g.

Is that better?

I believe you may have got Hoggle's and Ludo's weights confused on your last post, Hoggle*&*Ludo. Regardless, I would not be concerned with those weights. However, how often do you weigh them?

I think todays are the most accurate, I have weighed them 3 times since I started the thread and today is the only time they stood there still. With them being digital, it is hard because even if they turn their heads it goes crazy! :{

Hoggle is small compared to Ludo so I didn't believe the other readings. Is it weekly you should be doing it?

It would be more advisable to weigh them weekly, Hoggle&Ludo. Firstly, to recognise possible patterns; secondly, to notice extreme weight gains or losses (Both of which can indicate something is not quite right); and thirdly, by weighing them weekly, Hoggle and Ludo, will become more accustomed to this practice.

Thank you. :)

I can't say I have noticed anything drastic but Hoggle has always been the smaller one. Is there anything I can feed him to fill him out?

I don't think you need to worry about filling him out. Just a good balanced diet with his veg, pellets and lots of hay. Pigs are like us, come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. A good steady weight gain is all you need to see and seems like they are doing just fine. I know lots of people keep the weights recorded in something like an excel spreadsheet so they can keep a close eye out for patterns in weight.

At present, Hoggle*&*Ludo, I would advise that you simply offer Hoggle and Ludo as much food as they are willing to consume. However, ensure they are receiving a varied and balanced diet. The issue with attempting to "build up" a cavy, is you do not want the cavy to become overweight. Therefore, unless there is cause for concern, the best course of action is to simply offer a cavy as much food as they are willing to consume and to monitor their progress.

Thank you both. :)

Hoggle is a very good eater, they both are really, they go crazy for the pak choi and rocket - anything leafy. They also love green pepper, they were both eating it out of my hand the other night and they are terrified of me so I am proud of that! :)
