maisynpoppy

tonight, so please all keep your fingers crossed that shes put on a lil bit of weight :)

Oh bloomin' heck Kelly. Did you look into worms like Niki suggested?

i wormed her, but like mary said, its unlikely to be worms as shes an indoor piggies and only eats indoor home grown grass :(

Ah right, perhaps the vets and demand they get to the bottom of what is wrong?

Bless little Cookie, we have had trouble keeping weight on Jumbo through all his abscess problems, critical care mixed with vitamin b-12 has helped his apetite a lot. I don't know the back ground to Cookies porblem but i hope there is some weight gain soon.

thanks Vikki, I'm ordering some CC just incase, best having it in :( her background is quite sad, shes my lil inbred girl and her mum had back to back pregnancies so we are assuming this is a reason why shes small, but i didnt thnk she would be this small :(

Good idea Kel. I think maybe because the vet said she seems healthy then there is nothing that can be done just keep feeding her and maybe she will put on a growth spurt. :)

LOL glad she has put on weight, maybe she will just have growth spurts. :)

yeah well i wormed her so could be that too :-\ i cant wait till shes fat :D

hoping cookie continues to gain weight but not too much if she is a small piggie. glad she got the all clear from the vets. hugs and cuddles from me and the girls. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: way to go cookie!

YAY COOKIE GIRL! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

shes really bad, not eating, loosing weight, was up all night with her and took her vets this morning :(

Oh no Kel, what did the vet say?

I do fear she is like Cuzzy but hope I am wrong. :'(

the vet gave me more bio lapis, thankfully her sloppy poos went early morning :) the vet said she could stay in for day and he could redo all the things he did last time or i can take her home give her probiotic and cc and bring her back tomorrow morning if she gets worse, but shes defo going back on monday to be re weighed and checked over, if she isnt eating by then, shes staying in :( didnt want her to stay in today because i was scared it would stress her out and she isnt eating as it is :(

Lots of love to Cookie, sorry Kelly I didn't respond to your PM about her yesterday - I was too bloomin wrapped up in my own situation - sorry about that.

I hope she starts to show signs of picking up very soon.

Love Helen.
x

its ok helen i know your going through a bad time too :) i hope you feeling better today :-*

really hoping cookie gets better. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: really thought she was picking up when she had put a bit of weight on. perhaps try her with some dry grass, though our zoe has been on it for nearly 2 months since her surgery and i think she is sick of it now. really sending you hugs and prayers for little cookie. hoping she gets better. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: and from the girls :-* :-* :-*

thanks mary, ive tried everything and she wont touch anything :(

thanks everybody x

perhaps it would be best to take her back to the vet if she isn't eating, unless she is eating the syringe food? really hoping she gets better. is she moving round, acting normal or is she quiet and not moving much? hoping some one here can help you maybe hels or maryh. sending cuddles and prayers to you both! :smitten: :smitten: try and keep her warm and keep trying with the syringe feeds. :-* :-* :-*

Maybe find another vet Kel, a second opinion is worthwhile. I know hoe frustating and upsetting it is to have a pig that isn't well but you don't know what is wrong. I just hope that you can get to the bottom of what is causing her to be unwell. Also wrap her in a blanket and feed her with her spine to your stomach they can't wriggle so much then!

If you need anything just gvive us a shout. x

hey all, i gave cookie her pro biotic etc last night at 3am and then put her in the cage. i couldnt sleep again so at 5am just before i was going to sleep i went and checked on her and she was asleep so i watched maisy and poppy playing, next thing i know cookie spings up starts running around and went to the veg bowl, there was no veg left so i went and got her some and she was eating it :o not much but its a start and atleast she hasnt given up, and then she went to the hay and was eating the hay. ive had to come work for a coupel of hours till 7pm so i brought her with me because i dont want to take one step forward 3 steps back, but she does look miles better, must be the probiotic and metatone :)

last night i really thought she wouldnt make it so seeing her active again and eating a bit made me so happy and has given me lots of hope :)

That's great news Kel! They are funny little things! I'm thinking if the vet can't find nothing wrong with her do you think she could be depressed? Just like people can get depression for no real reason maybe pigs can too.

Hope she continues to eat and run around! :smitten:

maybe louise, or she may have just felt off? I'm not sure, she will be going back vets on monday and when i feel shes strong enough il let her get some more tests done :)

Lovely news Kelly, i'm so pleased to hear she's perked up :smitten:

Love to you and her :smitten: :smitten:
