Hi,

I noticed yesterday there was a thread and people were talking about weighing thier piggies every week. Should i be weighing my boys every week and what should there weight be? They are 1 years old ( birthday yesterday!)

Many Thanks x

Hi,

Ideally you should weigh them frequently as weight loss can be a sign of illness.

There is no set weight for your boys to be as long as they maintain their weight really.

My boys are 1.0kg and 1.3kg but both are healthy one is just built chunkier than the other

Can I just add that sudden unexplained weight gain should also be checked out by a vet. Yoshi ( r.i.p ) had an underactive thyroid that sent his weight skyrocketing despite him eating very little.

Very good point, people often focus on weight loss when sudden weight gain can also be cause for concern.
Everyone's different, my youngest two boys are 8 months and 10 moths and the younger of them two is 1.2kg and the elder is 1.1kg :)

Thanks for all the replies, I just weighed the boys Truffles is 1.3kg and Fudge is 1.0kg. Fudge is the smaller than Truffles and always has been. I will be weighing the regularly from now on!
