ok, so after our bad experience with our first 3 piggies, i have decided to weigh poppy and daisy(both boys:{) twice a week, since we have had them on sunday they have both put on 1oz. what is a good weight gain for an 8 week old piggie as i dont want to end up with chubby pigs :))

That is a good weight gain. I would weigh once weekly unless a piggy is suspected ill/off food, then you weigh daily.

What you feed piggies:
- unlimited hay (should make up 80% of the daily food intake)
- 1 cupful/ca. 50g of mixed veg per piggy per day, preferably containing one veg/herb high in vitamin C like a slice of pepper of any colour, some broccoli (any part), or a sprig of fresh coriander, parsley, dill, basil, mint - please rotate.
- unlimited pellets until the growth rate slows down somewhere between 4-9 months old, then reduce very gradually to the half to handful of pellets that mature piggies need.
- fresh water daily; please do not add additives (no control over intake, decreased drinking and increased growth of algae)

they have all this, although so far, as iv only had them a week, i have decided they do not like celery or tomatoes and will only just tolerate carrot, they LOVE apple, they have unlimited water, hay/fresh grass and meusli. will be trying some melon and pepper later. Thanks

Only introduce one fresh veg daily, but persist with veg they have not taken to first time round. The more variety you get them to eat early on, the better in the long term.

Try not feed veg high in calcium and vitamin A daily; neither fruit and tomatoes as they can cause sores in mouth and lips. But you can rotate.
