Where can I buy some scales that have the 'bowl' included ?
I have some digital ones which are fine for the smaller piggies we have but tried to weigh my boys this morning after nail trims and they are too big and cover the whole plate :(|)
Managed to weigh Benny and Frankie who are just over 1k but it kept reading 'unsafe' for Chopper who is a very chunky boy which made us laugh :(|)
He was just a tad over 1600g a couple of wheeks ago but like to keep a check - is this too heavy, he's a 19 month old bad haired Aby ")

You can always buy a suitably sized plastic dish or even weigh them in a shoe or other small cardboard box, as long you calibrate the weight to zero before you put the piggy in the box. ;)

I use an old broken oval plastic bowl from a previous pair scales, which is just the right size, but if I have a very skittish new piggy, I have been using anything from fleece tunnels to cuddle cups (whatever the piggy ended up in) and weighed the conveyance on its own afterwards to get an idea of the initial weight.

I put them in their hidey with my hand over the end so they cant walk out then put that on the kitchen scale works well :-)

That made me LOL :(|)

I stick Chubbs on ours, she kind of spills over the sides a bit, then I have to keep sticking her front paws back on as she's learnt that if she puts them down off the scales she loses a few grammes rolleyes

I weighed her yesterday & she is now a porky 1.389 :x Dunno if I should start my own Pig Watchers group :red
