I got a set of scales a few wheeks ago for the piggies weight and have been keeping list of their weights both in grams and lbs and ounces.
Here are the scales: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330364545081&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
They go up in 1g graduations, electronic, new and cost 5.49 inc postage!:):)
What are the ideal weights for my pigs.
Pinky, the oldest sow (5years old) weighs around 980 grams.
Poppy, the younger sow (10/11 Months) weighs 1070 grams.
And Patch my neutered boar and brother to Poppy weighs about 770 grams.
Should Path weigh more?(I thought boars were ment to weigh more than sows)
He had his operation about 14 wheeks ago so he should be recovered.
Any help please
Thanks

Good to hear you're getting into the habit of routine weighing. I feel odd if I dont weigh my lot every week. :))

Patch is on the light side. Question is, has he always been very small/light? Does he look healthy, does he feel fairly solid despite his size? Is he at least maintaining his weight each week?

I weigh them on Mondays and Thursdays
He has been smaller than his sister when we got him, he is 'active' enough around the girllies:))xx>>>rolleyes (I saw him mount one of the sows a couple of wheeks ago for the first time!). He feels slim around his waist but not so that his bones are sticking out, he's always eager for vegies or a treat and comes up to the edge of the cage. He dosn't feel solid or hard around his middle just soft and is constantly around 750/780 when weighed. When we got him neutered about 14 wheeks ago the vet said he was in very good health but obviously he was only about 5 months old so wouldn't be at his full size. Could it be he's just smaller (My first two piggies were big and both weighed over 1 kilo).
Thanks
