Hi everyone,
I have two boars, one of whom weighs 945g (Abyssinian called Ziggy) and one who weighs 1396g (long haired - unsure of exact breed - called Ozzy). They're both active, happy and eat well, so should I be okay with these weights, even though Ziggy is quite small and Ozzy is tipping the scales at the other end?! Advice welcome.

Ziggy is at the lower and Ozzy is at the upper range of the average adult weight band, which includes about 80% of adult piggies. Nothing to worry about!

If you want to find out how you can always check whether a piggy is a good weight/size ratio at any point in life, read this guide here; it explains what we call 'heft' and how you feel for it: The Importance Of Weighing - Ideal Weight / Overweight / Underweight

They can have differing adult weights... some of the abyssinians or abby crosses that I've had have been on the petite side. Frenzy (abby female) never reached 2 lbs and was very petite, and Leela (who doesn't show any abby features but had an abby-cross sister in the same litter and thus clearly has some shared genes there) is also tiny at about 1.5 pounds, as opposed to sheltie cross Hadley who is about 3 pounds. They're both fine and healthy, just different ends of the size range for their species!
