So i’m pretty sure my piggies weights are normal but I just want someone more educated to confirm for me. My two piggies peanut and coco are around 2 months old and peanut weighs a few grams under 400 grams and coco weighs 470 grams. My 3 and a half year old guinea pig weighs 1033 grams. Thank you in advance :)

Hi!

Your babies are more at the lower end but still within acceptable bounds. As long as they keep growing and are not loosing any weight that is perfectly fine. The normal weight variation in piggies from birth to adulthood is much larger than most people expect.

Please don't be tempted to feed them up though! It matter less what your piggies are bringing on the scale but whether they are a good weight for their size at any time of their life.
It is always quality in the diet that wins out on quantity in the long term - your piggies will be overall healthier and live longer than if you went by the average and stuffed them with sugary/starchy empty calories.

You may find this guide here very interesting. It teaches you how check for a piggy BMI (i.e. the 'heft'), how weight changes over the course of a life, life-long health and crisis monitoring and which foods are bad for the hips...

Thank you! They definitely eat and drink normally and I feed them a variety of vegetables like lettuce, parsley, cilantro, bell peppers, cucumbers, and more! I’m pretty sure I’ve been giving them about a cup of veggies a day each maybe a bit less for the babies, is that alright? They also get a tablespoon of pellets a day and unlimited hay.
