Weight Gaining

Hi everyone ,

My new piggy Ruby is quite underweight and in a bit of a bad condition and I was wandering what foods (pelleted and fresh) would be good for helping her put on weight ,

I believe porridge oats are fatty and good for putting on the weight. My pigglies wont touch them but i have had pigs that do and love them.

Do you just put them into the normal food dry?

i would just put them in on their own, however, i know some people soak them, i think just try to see if she will eat them dry, then if not try soaking?

Ha ha, yeah I believe it's a food for giving in moderation - none of ours enjoy it (how odd)

Sophieclyde - Is there a reason why you piggie is underweight? Has she been ill recently?

Barley rings are brilliant for adding weight, but shouldnt be fed long term or in large amounts. As you have to buy a large 15kg sack, I could always send you some to save you buying a huge sack for one pig?
