I'm sorry if it seems like I'm overreacting but I'm still fairly new to being a piggy slave. I weighed both my girls today and they both have lost a little weight. On April 20th Sophie (8 months old) weighed 896g and Penny (7 months old) weighed 830g and today they weighed 846g and 819g respectively. There has been no significant changes in eating habits or behavior, and I know that their weight loss isn't a lot but they both had been gaining weight steadily before this dip. We have been having some pretty nasty weather over here in the last week and I did notice my cats had been eating less, but are pigs sensitive to that kind of stuff as well?

Those amounts of weight loss are not too great but if you're concerned then weigh them every 2 days to to see if it was a glitch. The changes in the weather recently have caused my girls to not eat as much as normal but when I weigh them every week it always seams that 3 put on weight & one loses some this varies from 5 to 50 grams up or down. The following week the one that lost weight puts it on again & another one loses a little. The amount of weight loss in a week to get concerned about is over 75 grams / 3 ounces. This is very rare.

I wouldn't be too concerned over those weight losses, the different between a full and empty bladder can be around 30g. I echo Stewybus advice and recommend to weigh them more frequently for the time being and just record your findings, if they continue to lose weight then i would be more worried and perhaps a vet visit might be in order.

Good luck xx
