I admit to being slack in weighing the piggies the last while, please don’t flame me 😞

What I wanted to talk about is the boys’ weight. Fudge has only lost 28g over 2 months.

Toffee has been losing weight since April. Not a significant amount though - 76g over approximately 4.5 months. His heft is feeling a little on the bony side, and he’s looking slimmer. But he doesn’t appear ill and is eating as much as usual. And he’s his usual boisterous (occasionally asserting dominance) self.

I think I’ll have to get him an appointment at the vet, but wanted to ask here first and see. He’s two years old if that makes a difference.

I think getting him to the vet is probably a good idea. The weight loss seems a little strange especially at his age. Have there been any dietary changes or maybe a change in the amount of space he gets for exercise/play?

I’m also confused because there’s been no change in diet or size of their housing. And they still seem to consume quite a bit of hay between them.

I’ll ring Monday and hopefully get an appointment during the week.

I don’t think so, they’re only 2.

A routine vet check is a good idea, but 76g over 4.5 months doesnt sound too much to worry about- my big pig Clover has lost that much over the summer so she's no longer the biggest pig at all!
Hope Toffee is ok, maybe they ate a bit less in the hot weather? Mine eat fewer pellets in the summer I think...

I think I’ll take them both. Plan is to move them to the girls’ vet as it’s nearer.
