Since being seperated from his brother, my submissive piggy went up from 800g to 850g. Today I thought he felt a bit light so I weighed him again, and he has gone back down to 800g. I have noticed lately that he has not been finishing his veg and has been pooing less.

I tend to overreact to things like this, but what do you think I should do? I don't know if the weight loss is sudden or gradual because I hadn't weighed him for a few weeks. Should I just keep on eye on him and start weighing him daily, or take him to the vet tomorrow?

How old is he?
My first thought is that he may have dental problems, more information is needed for this one!

He is around 9 months old.
He does eat most of the veggies, eventually, but it takes him a long time to do it and he doesn't seem as enthusiastic about it. I have had him on my lap scoffing parsley and he seems OK with that, though there were a few green dribbles on the fleece afterwards. I don't know if that was just because he ate a massive juice stalk.

Some of my pigs tend to leave green juice everywhere after eating certain green foods, that is itself sounds normal. He's young for dental problems but it can't be ruled out entirely because of his age, especially when his symptoms seem to point to such a problem.

The reduced number of poops usually points to them eating less. Do you know if he's eating hay as normal? Eating dry food ok?

I think it's worth weighing every other day at the moment to monitor his weight. 50g over a few weeks isn't too bad although at 9 months a pigs weight would generally be stable or still increasing.
