I have weighed Terry today who is approximately 5 1/2. He has gradually lost 100g over the last month. His fur is losing its shine and feels dry/wirey too. His appetite is still very good.

I can't really pin point anything to be the cause, is 100g a lot to loose in a month? He seems happy just worried about the weight loss and change in fur condition. I will book a vet visit but I just want reassurance/thoughts really, I'm worrying - especially after the loss of Doris recently. Terry is now my oldest.

I think your doing the right thing, I'm not sure about weight loss, but I'd be concerned enough - 100g seems enough to me.

We all know our piggies well enough to know when they aren't so good, I think the loss and general look of the coat could be something. Or could just be age.

Fingers crossed.

Terry has a lump on the right of his neck. It is not an abscess as nothing could be drawn from it. Terry has loose poo and bloOd was found in his urine. Lump could possibly be a tumour. He is on fibre plex to help tummy and antibiotics for urine. He's not looking good :'( I'm not ready for this. He's still eating which is good. Had to be the weekend I'm going away to do my sponsored run :(

So sorry for your horrible news that Terry is poorly. Has the vet suggested anything can be done regarding the lump? So I have no experience, just wanted to send your boy some vibes x

Oh no! Poor Terry. Is there anyway your boyfriend can care for him while you are busy this weekend? I am so sorry your little man is poorly. I really hope he gets better soon.

I think we need lots of vibes :(
nothing was suggested about the lump as of yet. An operation isn't possible right now. Although blood tests may be taken when I next visit.
He was such a good boy, not a single squeak when he had a dental check with clamps, or when he was shaven/had a needle in his neck.
My boyfriend is coming with me to portsmouth for the run, staying from friday night until sunday morning. My mum was going to be looking after the piggies, so I'm going to have to show her what to do.
To make matters worse on my way home with Terry I was driving in my village when a car going the other way had their full beams on and zoomed past me despite me flashing them. I go round the corner and there's a cat in the middle of the road. The **** had hit the cat and sped off! Ofcourse I had to stop and asked a couple who were looking out their window if they knew whose it was as they'd heard the bang. Spent 5 mins rushing around and a woman offered to take the cat in her house while the owner was found. I had to leave as I had Terry in my car but has shaken me up, how can someone do that! The cat definitely didn't make it :( was still alive when I found it but not moving. 8.....

Oh my god! How awful of the car to just drive off. That poor cat.:( What a horrible day you have had. I really hope Terry is okay. My thoughts are with you.

no runny poos. still a bit worried. although he put up a lot of fight against antibiotics and fibreplex this evening! managed to spit out all of the fibreplex onto my work trousers.. good job i'm not working tomorrow!
