One of my boars has always been a skinny little thing. He saw the vet not long ago, who said he was quite underweight and needed to get up to 1kg. (He is around 800g).
So I split him up from his bully brother in the hope that I would be able to make sure he gets his food. But he still doesn't eat at the same rate as my other pig, and hasn't gained anything within the last few months. He fluctuates between 800-825g.
I hardly ever see him eating. He doesn't finish his vegetables (although he never has done, so I'm not too concerned about that).

How can I encourage him to put on weight? I have him on unlimited pellets but he doesn't even eat them much. I'm just not sure what else I can do, I'm worried that if he gets ill it will be more dangerous to him due to his boniness.

Thanks.

You could feed him an alfalfa based pellet - oxbow do one - ditto the alfalfa hay.

Pea flakes, corn on the cob all good for fattening up.

My boar is perfectly fine at 950grams he was lighter than that before, I've never got him any heavier, he's small boned :))

Have you tried worming him? If all the nutrients are being taken up by a large parasite load then he will fail to gain weight
