Ive just weighed Maddox and he weighs 1.4kg or about 3lb, is that big for an adult boar?

The lady who bought my girls today said shes never seen such a big boar and she said shes seen loads of piggy boys.

Let me know what you think :)

He's a chunky boy, many people say a 3lb pig is a very big pig as the average tends to be around 2.5lb, but 3lb piggies aren't uncommon. :)

It's slightly above average, but anything from 2lb to 4lb can be perfectly healthy and normal. As long as the pig isn't overweight, just a nice solid, healthy body shape, then you've just got a chunky piggie!

Both of my boys are 1.3kg although one looks much bigger than the other but he's much longer. I think the length of them makes a difference. As long he can still run around and live a normal active life I wouldn't be worried.
It's a good idea to weigh him weekly (or daily if he's poorly) his weight will vary slightly depending on how full his tummy or bladder is but it's a good way of spotting early signs of problems.

Nerys and Llewelyn are both 1.3 kg, and Taffy is just below. You simply have a chunky boar!

WE go less by weight than by condition. Weight serves more to monitor any sudden changes which can indicate illness than following a strict weight chart!

No problem! lol

here is Maddox, you can see how chunky he is! he gives great cuddles hes a very sweet boy and great with Maxwell.

It makes me very sad that someone dumped him in a cardboard box!
