Weight size for breeds

Hi friends,

Found various answers on this, but nothing concrete. I have two boars both almost the exact same age. I have an American Guinea pig (3 months almost 4) and noticed he's a small bean compared to the 3 month old boar I adopted (he's 3 months old, almost 4, Silkie who was no longer wanted). I've noticed Silkie piggy (Koji) has massive poops they look really healthy but holy moly is he a mini dinosaur?! I've read that American Guinea Pigs and Silkies end up being around the same size but that American Guinea's are a tad bit bigger once they're fully grown. Is there a certain weight they both should be around? I've seen the Guinea Pig Size O-Meter chart too. I've ordered a kitchen scale, just waiting for it to get here .

Koji is currently quarantined but during veggie time my boyfriend sits with Glacier in his lap feeding Glacier, and I sit with Koji doing the same. We're on opposite sides of the room, but when I tell you how much Glacier lights up and talks to Koji, my heart warms .

Weight is determined by genetics. Theres no healthy range as such because what is small for one piggy is overweight for another.
You do need to keep a close eye on their weights, but heft is a more accurate guide for whether they are a good weight for their size (bmi basically).
