I do not know if this is in the right section but how can I tell if my guinea pigs are over weight or under weight. I do not have a scale at the moment but I'm thinking of getting one next month. What should I look for in a scale.

I have had several scales to be honest and the best ones I've had are the flat electronic ones that you can alter the measurement. Mine weren't expensive either, the flat one means that if the piggy wants to jump off he or she won't hurt themselves.

I use flat electronic scales too, they are great for weighing piggies and mine let me know when the battery is about to run out and they are good for weighing the piggies food out too if you want to do that.

I have the same scale suggested by Mother Hubbard and it works very well with piggies. I only need to check if their 4 legs are all on the scale... once it happened that one foot was on the table and of course the weight appeared strange...
You can also put a bow on the scale with the piggie into it.
